Are you interested in impacting children’s library services and programming? Are you passionate about serving children? Do you know someone who is? Please consider nominating yourself or someone else for the OLA, Children’s Services Division Board. Work with your peers to make children's libraries a better place. CSD Position Openings

CSD Chair-Elect This is a three-year commitment and an elected position. Click here for the full job description. This position will start in September 2023. Here are the main duties and responsibilities.

Advocate for CSD members as a member of the OLA Annual Conference Program Committee
Coordinate CSD’s annual fundraising activity (typically held concurrently with the Spring CSD Member Workshop)
Support and learn from the current Chair and Past Chair.

Secretary: POSITION FILLED. The secretary is a voting member. Click here for a detailed job description. This position would start immediately. Here are the main duties and responsibilities:

Attend CSD events and take notes.
2 hours/month

Communication Lead The CSD communications chair leads a committee of two to four additional volunteer members (three to five members in total) to implement CSD member communications and event promotions. We have people who can teach you the ropes of the position. This position would start immediately. Click Here for a detailed job description.

Promote CSD events
Oversee blog posts
Update CSD website
5 hours/month

Communications Committee Members

Create content for the blog, update CSD website, or promote CSD events. This position would start immediately.
1-2 hours/month

Lampman Award Committee Members:

Review nominations and help select award winner
Help plan and host the celebration of the award winner
2 hours/month during December-April. 5 hours on award celebration day.

Scholarship Chair:

Plan and organized a scholarship campaign for CSD
Review applications using designated criteria and select recipients
Attend CSD meetings to update board
1-2 hours/month

Scholarship Committee Members:

Review applications using designated criteria and select recipients
3-5 committee members needed
4-8 hours total

Mock Award Committee Members

Read and select books using award criteria
3-5 committee members needed

Oregon Library Presenters' Directory Committee Member

Meet monthly to make decisions about directory
Assist with promotion of the directory
Complete other tasks as assigned
