Spring Meeting + Workshop + Lampman Luncheon

This spring CSD is combining continued education and celebration into one fun and full day, with the CSD Board meeting in the morning, the Lampman Luncheon midday, and the CSD Spring Workshop happening in the afternoon. We look forward to seeing you for one, two or all three parts of the day!

• CSD Board meeting - open to the public at 10:30am
  
• Lampman Luncheon 11:30am - 1pm
• Spring Workshop 1-4:30pm

Fee: 

• Lampman Luncheon: $15
• Spring Workshop: $10
• Both Luncheon & Workshop: $20 (CSD members only)

For Lampman Luncheon attendees, food will be provided by Schmizza Public House and will feature hot dishes, salads with protein, breadsticks, and beverages. Dessert will also be included.

The afternoon workshop includes:

• a Guerrilla Storytime session for lightning learning!
  

• tips, tried-and-true methods, and discussion on balancing work and extracurricular activities like CSD, ALA,  ALSC, and OBOB. If you've got questions or ideas, you are welcome to share!

• a presentation and small group discussion on how library staff can help facilitate Talking with Preschoolers About Race. Research shows that children not only recognize race from a very young age, but also develop racial biases by ages three to five. We will explore how to approach talking about race with preschool aged children and how to use picture books as conversation starters, along with time for discussion and reflection. Resources for further exploration will be provided.
  

In addition, you can stock up your bookshelves and support CSD at the same time by browsing our in-person book sale, featuring 2017 books for kids, teens, and adults! These books are available at a fraction of the cover price and will be on sale during the Spring Workshop only!
