The Children's Services Division Spring Workshop scheduled for March 15, 2023 has been postponed. We will reschedule it for the Fall of 2023.
Inclusive Early Literacy: Using the Principles of Universal Design for Learning
We are excited to announce that Melissa Pebly, EdD Assistant Professor of Practice, Portland State University, College of Education will be our workshop facilitator. Her workshop will help attendees become familiar with:
· How storytime can impact educational outcomes for children with disabilities and diverse learning needs.
· The principles of Universal Design for Learning.
· Initial strategies to support children with disabilities in storytime.

Event Held on: Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 1 - 2 pm The Children's Services Division presented our virtual winter workshop, Book Buzz. We gathered together with fellow youth library workers and chatted about new and noteworthy titles from 2022. Attendees added their five favorite books from 2022 to our sign up form and talked about their choices. We encouraged them to make their selections using a diversity lens.
